Hey there, community. I’m a long-time F5 BIG-IP guy. I’ve _used_ NGINX for years, but casually, and I don’t really understand it as it has mostly fallen outside the purview of my day-to-day. So this quarter I’m going on a journey. I’m starting with the foundational concepts and the web server aspects and then I’ll move through the advanced topics. My discovery will primarily be OSS-focused, but I’ll take some enterprise side-quests along the way. I’ll be posting here and there on my progress. If you have insights I’m missing, please share! I’ll consider this project a success if I can articulate the use cases of the NGINX OSS features and functionality while also understanding where an enterprise upgrade might make sense.

> Day 1 is done a tad late, but I think the extra time paid off.
> I started with setup. I installed NGINX mainline from the nginx.org repo instead of Ubuntu's package, mostly because...
