NGINX Learning Resources

I’m basically looking to learn NGINX and wondering if there’s anything that anyone would like to share as they’ve been learning themselves. Could be anything, just looking to help myself but also others and see if there’s any golden gems that people haven’t seen or noticed yet.

Obviously I know about the documentation but it’s fine to list that too haha. Any guide/resource to help someone just starting out is what I’m looking for.

Kind regards,
~Blood

Hi @JordanP ,

It all depends on the level of material you’re looking for. If you want something entry-level from an administration perspective, you can look at https://nginx.org/en/books.html. However, in my opinion, all of those are fairly boring. I’d simply spin up a couple of vms or LXC containers and start configuring different scenarios, occasionally asking chatgpt, claude or gemini for help with basic errors or explanations of how things work.

For me personally, the best resource that gives you nearly 100% coverage of all capabilities is https://github.com/nginx/nginx-tests. Combined with tcpdump/wireshark, it will give you such a deep understanding of how everything works that the next step after that is basically development.
