FYI: Understanding your site user preferences

This forum is hosted on the tool Discourse. One aspect of Discourse that we love is how customizable it is. Getting to know it as a new user can take a minute though, so we want to give you some pointers about adjusting your user settings.

To navigate to your user settings, click on your profile picture and select profile, then preferences.

You can adjust a range of preferences there. If you’re like me, email notifications may get lost in the void, but pop-up banners keep me on track in active conversations. You can also receive notifications for watching certain tags or categories that you set up in the tracking tab.

The interface tab allows you to change a few ways to use this site, ranging from your interface language to opening external links in a new tab.

While the site-wide user settings will suit most people, you’ll likely have some opinions as you participate here. We encourage you to adjust as you go!
